How RADWIN beamforming antenna improves traffic Interference immunity & extends coverage.

Instead of a typical wide beam antenna, RADWIN base station uses a narrow, steerable beam for uplink and downlink transmission. Typically, unlicensed radio interference significantly reduces PtMP coverage and link stability, however, RADWIN’s narrow steerable beam rejects interference by approximately 18dB to ensure spatial interference filtering.

In addition, beamforming interference rejection improves the signal reception of remote subscriber units. Imagine deploying a network in a noisy spectrum of –60dbm yet receiving performance of about -80dbm to extend range and capacity, therefore reducing the number of towers & network TCO.

More capacity using less spectrum

RADWIN’s narrow beam, also in the downlink, eliminates self-interference between adjacent sectors and neighboring cells, enabling greater reuse of a given frequency channel. NEO Series enables Frequency reuse 2, meaning only 2 channels are required per network and carrier.

NEO outperforms horn antenna interference immunity & saves upon TCO

As a beamforming antenna is narrower than a typical dual horn antenna (60˚), greater immunity is assured. It only requires 4 radios to cover 360˚ vs. 6 radios for the horn antenna.

A dual carrier base station reduces tower space & TCO

A base station with dual carrier incorporates two radios into a single unit. Both radios work in separate frequency channels and feed separate antennas. Each pair of radios and antennas cover the overall sector but simultaneously serves a different group of customers.

Dual carrier results in higher capacity per base station unit, saving upon tower space and rental costs. More significantly, it offers PrimeCarrier capabilities.
